The Always on display feature has been a part of Android phones for a long time now. It was first introduced by Samsung, but many have followed since then. You even get it on a lot of mid-range phones now, which is great. This feature, in case you don't know, shows the clock and some other useful information on your phone's screen all the time. It essentially takes advantage of the OLED panels on phones these days to light up only pixels needed to show you the clock and other notifications, while keeping the rest of the display completely off. So there's no significant impact on the battery life, even when the display is technically "always on" to show you relevant info.
Most phones, as we mentioned earlier, ship with this feature out of the box, but you can enable it on devices that don't have it too. Here's a step-by-step explaining how to enable and use the always-on display feature on your Android phone:

OnePlus resisted adding an always-on display feature to their phones for quite a while, but they finally caved into user demands and added the feature with the release of the OnePlus 9 series. Here's how you can enable it on OnePlus' current version of OxygenOS:
The always-on display feature is pretty much just the natural evolution of the "ambient display" that was so popular on Motorola phones several years ago. It eventually trickled down to stock Android as well. It's a handy feature that tells you the time and gives you a quick look at your notifications, without having to unlock the phone. And the fact that it's "always on", and doesn't rely on your movement to light up the pixels makes it that much more convenient to quickly check the time or see if you have a notification from any of your favorite or important apps.
Hello I have a Redmi Note 10 global variant which have super amoled screen but one thing I noticed that being an amoled panel it must have always on display feature which should be worked all the time but for now it is working only for just 10 seconds and then after it turned off the screen.Source
The devices all come with the always-on display customization goodies that Xiaomi offers on their more premium devices but that is overshadowed by the fact that the display only stays on for a maximum of 10 seconds.
Next, head over to Additional settings > Developer options and scroll to the bottom to the MIUI optimizations toggle. Just turn it off and you will see that your always-on display will stick instead of turning off automatically in 10 seconds.
11:34 am (IST): The rooted ones out there are free to try the MIUI AOD Patched v1.1 Magisk module that will enable true always-on-display in MIUI without the need for the bug-inducing MIUI optimization workaround.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, like the rest of the Redmi Note 11 quartet, boots Android 11 with the most current MIUI 13 version. Most of the new MIUI features are under the hood, though they should make for a smoother, smarter, and more secure experience. The Redmi Note 11 seems to have a few features missing here and there that are present on the Pro models, but we'll get to that.
Let's kick the software tour off with the Always-on display. It is present on the Redmi Note 11, but it's not exactly always on. It can only appear for 10s after a tap. At least, there are a lot of AOD themes you can choose from. A few of those can also be customized.
Themes have always been a huge part of MIUI, and they are available on MIUI 13, too. You can download new ones from the Themes store, and they can change wallpapers, ringtones, system icons, and even the always-on display style.
Then there is the Adreno 610 GPU - another aging piece of kit that is almost operating at its maximum supported display resolution limit of 2520x1080 pixels on the Redmi Note 11, with its 1080 x 2400 resolution display. That should be indication enough for its performance. We are almost wondering how it is managing 90Hz or rather anywhere close to 90fps at all. The Spectra 346 camera ISP and Hexagon 686 DSP of the Snapdragon 680 are nothing to phone home about either and are the reason why the Redmi Note 11 is only limited to 1080p video capture. By the way, the Snapdragon 695 is even more of a disappointment than the Snapdragon 680 in this regard since it shares this limitation, while the older and "lower number" Snapdragon 690 doesn't. But, we are getting off-topic.
That's not much of a consolation, though, if you are after a good gaming experience. The Redmi Note 11 and its Snapdragon 680 just don't have the graphics power for anything more than the most casual games. To be clear, most titles out there will still run due to the extremely flexible and scalable nature of modern mobile game engines, but not nearly good enough to deliver an adequate experience. If gaming is a priority for you, look elsewhere.
Please note that the issues stated here are not the highlights of Xiaomi phone issues. Xiaomi smartphones come with many great features at a budget price. So these Xiaomi phone issues alone should not restrict you from purchasing. And even if you come across any problem, you will know how to solve them as you have read this guide.
Always on Display feature works slightly differently on phones from different smartphone manufacturers. While some OEMs like Samsung provide you with a lot of options and designs to choose from, other OEMs like the OnePlus provide a lackluster experience. So if you like to improve the always-on display functionality or try new clock faces, here are the best always-on display apps you can download on Android.
Edge lighting is the selling point here. But it does a great job of providing many edge lighting themes, customizable settings, when to show settings, animations, timings, placement, etc. Unlike always-on display designs, edge lighting will not be visible all the time on the screen. It will only appear when there is music playing on the device or when a new notification hits the screen. Muviz also supports a few always-on display designs, and all of them feature a media player. Needless to say, it was designed for music lovers. The edge lighting animations are also optimized for the music playing on the device.
Custom AOD, as the name suggests, allows you to create your own animation designs. You can set any of your images and gifs as the always-on display screen. Also, you can add multiple images to the same design if you prefer so.
Most always-on display apps do not add any additional info to the display. They only bring you time, music control, and notifications which are possible with most Android phones. But if you like to try new clock faces, effects, and animations, then they are definitely worth checking out. My personal favorite is Muviz Edge because all I want is a bit of animation when playing music and the option to get notified visually.
The battery saver might have stopped the display feature. You should turn off the feature to make the always display work again. To enable Battery Saver mode or change its settings on an Android device, kindly take the following actions :
Using a Wi-Fi connection is extremely convenient because there are no data limits or slow loading times. However, the experience is not always pleasant. There are times when the phone keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi and it can be quite annoying. The internet, online life, and social media have revolutionized the world. The internet contains all of the information you require. With the internet, you can book tickets, buy groceries, call loved ones, and even conduct office meetings.
Once you have Teams working, there are several things you can do with it. For example, you can use the Microsoft Teams Whiteboard to communicate ideas better in meetings. You can add Teams to Outlook and capture and play Teams recordings.
Xiaomi's first smartphone launch of 2022 is here, and it's called the Xiaomi 11i 5G. It has a lot in common with the Redmi Note 11 Pro, which was introduced in China back in October 2021, but the 11i 5G is destined for India. Its biggest highlight is the blazing-fast charging technology that fully juices up the battery in just a few minutes. As has always been the case with smartphones in the Redmi series, you also get a lot of other goodies - including a 120Hz AMOLED display and multi-band 5G connectivity - all at a very reasonable base price of INR 24,999 (about $335). But even though Xiaomi's latest offering stands quite well on its own, it doesn't exactly stand out.
The Xiaomi 11i 5G has a 6.67-inch 1080p flat display with slim bezels on all sides (except at the chin, where it's a little thicker). Since it's an OLED panel, you get enhanced contrast and deeper blacks, and the screen gets plenty bright for use under direct sunlight. The 120Hz refresh rate makes for a smooth experience, too. It's not adaptive and does exhibit some uneven patches when viewed at night (with dark mode turned on), but given the 11i 5G's price, I'm not complaining too much.
That said, MIUI 12.5 does include a bevy of useful features like system-wide dark mode, an app lock, and a customizable always-on display. Yes, you do have to wade through a bunch of bloatware, but many of them can be uninstalled. I also found the overall performance to be generally smooth, with no dropped frames or random app crashes. The phone's powered by Mediatek's Dimensity 920 SoC and 6/8GB of RAM, a combo that can handle everything from graphics-intensive games (e.g. Asphalt 9: Legends) to split-window multitasking sans major hiccups. MIUI's RAM management continues to be aggressive though, with apps in memory reloading more often than I would've liked.
Battery life might just be the biggest strength of the Xiaomi 11i 5G. With my typical use, I got around ten hours of screen time on one charge over the course of about a day and a half. Even if you're a heavy user, the phone's 5,160mAh cell will easily see you through the day. Then there's the much-hyped 67W fast charging technology, which to be honest, blew me away. The bundled charger takes a mere fifteen minutes to take the battery from one to fifty percent, with forty two minutes giving you a full charge. Impressive as it is, I have concerns about the battery's lifespan with such fast charging. And even though Xiaomi says it has built in enough safeguards to ensure the battery's health, my advice would be to just use a slower (e.g. 18W) charger when you're not in a hurry. 2ff7e9595c
